The musical duo Tenacious D consists of the talented American musicians and actors Jack Black and Kyle Gass. Their musical style encompasses rock with strong influences of folk metal, comedy rock, and country rock, standing out for their unique fusion of classic rock and often vulgar comedy. The self-titled album “Tenacious D” was released in 2001. To record it, they enlisted the help of bassist Steve McDonald, guitarist Warren Fitzgerald of The Vandals, keyboardist Page McConnell of Phish, and Foo Fighters’ lead singer Dave Grohl (former drummer of Nirvana).
From this album, two singles were initially released: the first was “Tribute,” and the second was “Wonderboy,” with both having their own music video. Later on, the band dropped a third single, “Caress Her Tenderly,” and its animated music video was crafted by John Kricfalusi, the creator of the Ren & Stimpy cartoon.
