MOON AND ARIES’ musical journey began on March 1, 2021. Despite geographical distance and a nine-hour time zone, Canada-based Moon and Germany’s Aries found perfect harmony through sharing files and virtual collaboration. This extraordinary duo has overcome physical barriers to make a global mark, with their discography played on countless radio stations across Australia, Europe, Africa, Asia and America.
The Talent behind MOON AND ARIES
Jordana Moon, a singer-songwriter from Western Canada, is an artist whose music is a harmonious homage to mindfulness and empowerment. Jordana studied creative writing at Vancouver Film School and draws inspiration from a variety of genres and artists, ranging from jazz, trip-hop, neo soul, to icons such as Joni Mitchell, Lauryn Hill, Bee Gees, Portishead and Massive Attack. Her hypnotic and sensual voice, combined with profound lyrics, creates a sonic dimension that touches the strings of the soul.
On the other hand, West German electronic and synthesizer musician Tom Aries infuses his classical piano training into enchanting synth sequences. Having already made his mark in the world of music for video games and film soundtracks, Aries now directs his creativity towards the duo’s productions. His inspirations include Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk, ABBA, Portishead, Röyksopp and the classic sounds of the 80s, masterfully blending these influences into a distinctive, contemporary sound.
Awards and Future Projects
In 2023, MOON AND ARIES won the prestigious OGIMA MUSIC AWARD as BAND OF THE YEAR. “Their music is not made to fit a mold; it is sculpted to break them. The duo’s ethos is clear: they are not mainstream, nor do they aspire to be. Their search is for authentic artistic expression, with the objective of touching hearts and awakening the senses” (OGIMA 2023).
The fruitful collaboration between MOON AND ARIES has led to constant innovation. In 2022 they debuted with “The Arrival”, a nine-track concept album, followed by “Break the Matrix” in 2023, another conceptual album with nine songs. Looking ahead to 2024, the duo is ready to launch their fourth album, “TRANSCENDENCE” a thematic album with 12 songs, one for each month of the year.
