The Dead South is a Canadian band that came together in 2012, known for their musical style and lyrics revolving around themes of love, betrayal, alcohol, and gunplay, immersing the listener in a violent and passionate Wild West that is hard not to fall in love with. Dressed like stylish mid-1800s gunslingers, The Dead South represents the dark and sinister side of folk music.

The band consists of Nate Hilts as the lead singer, Scott Pringle on backing vocals, guitar, and mandolin, Danny Kenyon on backing vocals and cello, and Colton Crawford on the banjo. In 2014, they recorded their debut studio album titled “Good Company.” With a significant delay, in 2017, the band released a humorous music video on YouTube for the fourth song from the album, “In Hell I’ll Be in Good Company.” The music video acted as a catapult to the band’s fame, and since then, leveraging social media effectively, they have continued to gather fans from all around the world.
